This project works with up to 40 children and young people a year predominantly aged 9 – 15 years old. The focus is planning for the future and equipping them with the skills and motivations needed for a more positive future – developing aspirations for jobs, careers, leisure and avoiding criminality, drug and alcohol misuse, mental and physical health issues.
Young people spend several hours a week at the project – working towards increasing their positive engagement in school and the community; increasing their resilience so as to be less vulnerable to child sexual exploitation and so as to be better able to cope with dysfunction at home.
The project is a mix of group work , one to one support and general activities.
The programe is a range of activities, challenges and opportunities including art, sports, healthy eating , exercise , homework support , skills development – young people are supported to find school work experience placements and will be working towards their Duke of Edinburgh awards.
